Still water, quiet mornings. Fish motifs painted on a white pocket — simple and unhurried.
The vase is wheel thrown in stoneware clay, trimmed, and cut in half. It is then hand painted with underglaze, attached to a hand built stoneware arch, bisque fired, glazed, and fired again. The pocket holds water for fresh or dried flowers.
The piece has a minor hairline crack repaired with epoxy and gold, in the spirit of kintsugi. Please see photos for details.
To clean gently hand wash with dish soap. Avoid scrubbing. Each piece is one of a kind. Minor variations in the painting and glaze are part of the making.
